Every year at just this time, In cold and dark December, Families around the world All gather to remember, With presents and with parties, With feasting and with fun, Customs and traditions for people old and young. Helen H. Moore
Dear Kids, To me, this poem is the perfect description of December. From Christmas and Chanukah to Posadas and Kwanzaa, December is a month to remember heritage and traditions. It's also a great time to start new family traditions! Making a holiday card for an elderly person or a veteran is a new tradition that my friends and I have started. It makes me happy to brighten their day with a card or a drawing.
For many people, going to see The Nutcracker has become a tradition. In this issue, read what it's like to be a ballet dancer starring in this holiday classic. You'll also find a fun recipe for an edible holiday decoration!
