Dear Kids,
I love the month of May! It's the month when I get to celebrate my most favorite person in the whole wide world my mother! I like to pick some of the pretty May flowers for her and make her a pretty card, too.
I also love to spend time outside during the terrific month of May. Have you ever walked through the woods and wondered what it would be like to be an explorer or an adventurer? I sure have. So, this month, I tracked down a real live adventurer.
Bernie Harberts has traveled across the United States with a mule and a pony! And, he even wrote a book about it! Read all about him in this issue.
Another fun thing to do in May is to celebrate the limerick. Try your hand at creating this fun type of poetry. Here's my limerick:
Truman was a big dragon
Who liked to pull a wagon.
He loaded it with books,
They really got him hooked.
Truman, the reading dragon.
