Dear Kids, It's December, and winter is just around the corner! And that means winter break is coming soon. Kids take a break from school and get to be with their families and friends to celebrate the holidays. And there are plenty of holidays to celebrate in December!
In many parts of the country, winter means colder weather! That's when I like to get a few friends together and play board games. Have you ever wondered where the games come from? Who comes up with the ideas for games? In this issue, you'll read about Kylie Copenhagen, who invented The Ladybug Game when she was in first grade!
Also in this issue, you can learn about two important parts of our countrys history: The Bill of Rights and the Pledge of Allegiance. You may not think of December as a very patriotic month, but both of these items became official in the month of December.
I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season and enjoy the time with your family. Remember to keep reading while you are on break from school. To stay strong, your mind needs exercise just like your body!
