September is a time for fall festivals and county fairs. While fairs are a great place to have fun on the amusement rides and eat yummy treats, they are also a great place to learn about agriculture. Did you know that agricultural fairs were first created to educate farmers about new farming procedures and to showcase agricultural products from across the state? Usually the exhibits at county fairs highlight agricultural products that are produced in the county to help fairgoers learn about the importance of agriculture in their area. Fairs are usually held in the fall months of September and October.
