Dear Kids,
Yippee! It's July and that means Independence Day and fireworks! There's nothing like lying in the grass, looking up at black sky and watching it explode with color. That must be a pretty exciting job to create spectacular fireworks shows. In this issue, you'll meet Joel Matthews who actually produces fireworks events! It's also important to remember the reason that we celebrate the Fourth of July. You can learn more about the Independence Day and the Declaration of Independence in this issue.
July is also a great month for swimming! I have a special friend who has just learned to swim. Now it's his favorite sport! He can even do flips in the water!
In the Come Out & Play article, I've included a few things to remember when you are swimming, and a fun game to try. It's also important to remember to protect your skin from the sun when you are out swimming or playing this summer. Speaking of swimming, here's a joke for you! Why can't two elephants go swimming? Because they only have one pair of trunks!
