Dear Kids,

Happy New Year! And Happy Birthday, too! Did you know that in some countries, New Years Day is also celebrated as Everyones Birthday? Thats right, everyone turns a year older on New Years Day, no matter when they were born during the year.

Some very important people really were born in January. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756. Well talk about these people and much more in this issue of Kidsville News.

For many people, New Years means starting a new year with new goals and resolutions. Its a time to figure out what you want to accomplish during the next year, and to remember everything that you did in the past 12 months. I hope that your 2005 was a terrific year and that 2006 will be even better.

2006 is going to be a terrific year! We have some exciting things happening at Kidsville News. Our new website launches this month. Check it out at www. KidsvilleNews.com. Well also be having more contests and activities for you to do. I want to invite you to write me and let me know what you think about Kidsville News. This is your paper and I want to know what you would like to see in it! Id also love to get artwork and poetry from you, so send it in!
