Dear Kids,

Ahhh, December! I just love the holidays. We get to take a break from school, be with our family and friends and enjoy the end of the year. In this issue, we'll talk about different holidays that happen in December. December also means that its cold outside at least in most parts of our country. One of my favorite winter sports is ice skating, although Ive twisted my ankles a few times and fallen down plenty! Learn more about this fun winter sport in Come Out and Play. I just returned from Orlando, Florida, (where it was still pretty warm!) and I want to tell you about the incredible circus that I saw in Whats It Like To Be. Did you know that December is also when the Wright Brothers made their famous first flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina? Read about that in our Way Back When article. Remember that famous line in the Christmas classic Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse? Try our Kidsville Kitchen recipe for Mouse-in-the-House Cupcakes for a holiday treat! (Maybe even leave one out for Santa!) Enjoy December and have fun!
