Nothing goes with fall and football like pizza! Try this recipe as an easy lunch or a snack for a football party!

WHAT YOU NEED:

1 pita bread round
2 tablespoons pizza or spaghetti sauce
1 stick mozzarella string cheese
3-6 pepperoni slices
1/2 medium green bell pepper

DIRECTIONS:
  1. With adult help: Set the oven to 425F. Place the pita bread on a small cookie sheet. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the top of the pita.

  2. Cut the string cheese in half from end to end using a safe child size cutting utensil or have an adult cut it for you. Cut each half again from end to end to make four (4) long strings of cheese. Arrange the cheese strings over the pizza sauce to make a tic-tac-toe pattern. (You should have nine (9) square openings.)

  3. Place the pepperoni slices on some of the square openings. With adult help: Cut the bell pepper in half from end to end and scrape out the seeds. Using a 1-inch cookie cutter, cut three (3) stars from the bell pepper. Place the pepper stars on the rest of the openings.

  4. With adult help: Bake the pizza for seven (7) to eight (8) minutes or until the cheese begins to melt. Carefully remove the pan from the oven using oven mitts. Cut it into triangles using a pizza cutter. Enjoy! Makes one (1) individual pizza.
Helpful Hint: Its easier to cut through the pepper if you place it with the skin side down on the cutting board. Place the cookie cutter shape over the pepper and push it down firmly to cut through the pepper.
